Benefits of Towel Holders
According to their density, roll napkins are divided into single-layer, double-layer and triple-layer. The coloring is very diverse: from plain white to textured with a stylish pattern.
Holders are made either wall-mounted (hanging) or table-mounted. With such a design, you don’t have to worry about the roll falling or rolling somewhere. Moreover, the stand can be positioned so that it is always convenient to reach the napkins. And for housewives, maximum comfort in the kitchen is the key to success.
Necessary materials
Depending on the idea, you will need different materials. Old newspapers, a stand for the children's toy "Pyramid", CDs, PVA glue. In addition, you will need wooden beads, leather belts, an old hanger (plastic or metal), a screwdriver, dowels.
And for a loft style stand you will need a metal pipe, a plug, a metal circle with a hole in the middle, a wooden circle, a drill and sandpaper.
Decorative elements are used at will.
How to Make a Paper Towel Holder: Methods
Hanging towel holder
The finished holder looks like this. It takes up very little space and has an additional shelf.
To make such a stand with your own hands, you need to have skills in working with wood and regular carpentry tools (chisel, hacksaw, hand router).
First, horizontal shelves are prepared. Grooves are cut along the edges and then processed with sandpaper.
Next, the side parts are made. Using a template, the desired shape is cut out and then also processed with sandpaper.
The round blank is made with an “allowance” of 2-3 cm.
The grooves and ridges are carefully coated with glue, connected and tightened with clamps. The finished holder is covered with paint or varnish. Then it is attached to the bottom panel of the wall-mounted kitchen cabinet.
Making a wall mounted towel holder
From the hanger
This is the most basic option. All you need is an old hanger. You can hang the roll on the bottom bar in two ways: either by making a cut in it or by unbending it.
Anything that comes to hand is used as decoration: from soft toys to jewelry and cutlery.
From beads
This holder will work with both out-of-fashion beads and wooden beads strung on a thread from a craft store.
The beads are strung on a fishing line or wire and closed into a ring. Its diameter varies, depending on personal preferences and conditions.
The model made of natural wood looks stylish and cozy.
From belts
This wall model is easy to make from scrap leather.
You will need:
- Two rectangular leather fragments;
- Awl;
- Rivets;
- Wooden base for roll;
- Decorative elements on request.
The belt sections are folded in half and holes are made in them. They are joined and fixed with rivets. Then the structure is attached to a vertical surface.
The length of leather straps may vary.
Tabletop holder
In loft style
This stand will require skills in working with wood and metal.
To make it you will need:
- Metal tube;
- Plug;
- Metal disk with a hole for a pipe;
- Wooden circle;
- Sandpaper;
- Drill, screws for metal;
- Degreaser, paint for wooden parts, enamel.
We combine the metal and wooden circles, having first made holes for the screws.
We screw the pipe into the metal circle and put a plug on the upper end.
When finished, the stand looks like this with a roll of towels.
From tubes
A stand made from newspaper tubes is a great way to create a creative accessory and get rid of piles of old newspapers.
We cut the newspaper sheets into identical medium-sized rectangles and carefully roll them diagonally. We fix the edge with glue.
Then we form a round base from the obtained parts. It can be glued to a CD stand or any other round flat shape. We make a border along the edge.
The basis for the pin is a cardboard cylinder from paper towels. It needs to be cut and tightly rolled up, and then covered with newspaper tubes.
The entire structure should be coated well with PVC glue and then painted in any color.
The finished product is a very creative model.
Alternatively, you can weave a stand from newspaper tubes. But this will require weaving skills.
A DIY kitchen accessory is always original and convenient.
