Over the door hangers
The towel accessory can be placed in different ways. Depending on the size of the bathroom, the availability of free space on the wall and, in general, based on personal preferences.
As a rule, a towel holder on the door is a great solution for a modest-sized bathroom. In typical apartment bathrooms, there was no free space at all for such an element as a holder, so the inside of the door was a worthy solution to this problem.
Moreover, the shape of the accessory could be very different: from single hooks to a spacious strip for placing almost all bath accessories.
Wall hangers
This category is characterized by the greatest diversity.
For example, a model with several hooks for bath accessories at the bottom of the hanger, and a convenient shelf at the top. Towels can not only be neatly folded, but also hung, since the shelf consists of several separate tubes.
Another option that has earned universal approval is the "spinner". The tubes move freely and allow you to place towels either close to each other or at a distance to dry. A very practical thing.
The design is laconic, but at the same time very functional. In addition to two rows for towels, there are small hooks for other small items.
Floor hangers
A floor accessory is the preserve of spacious bathrooms.
Thanks to the variety of options offered, you can choose a hanger of the desired style, size and color. Such an accessory has a stable base and is made of wood, metal or plastic.
In addition to the crossbars, the hangers are equipped with a tray shelf, which is convenient for storing towels, bathrobes and other necessary items.
The holders are made stationary or mobile, which helps to better use the space of the room.
Hangers hooks
It's hard to imagine a more affordable way to tidy up your bathroom and hang everything in its place. The only downside is that towels take a long time to dry on this type of mount.
Hooks can be single, double or triple. They are placed on a bracket, allowing them to slide freely, or attached, making them immobile. Hanger hooks are made massive to make part of the bathroom decor, or, on the contrary, barely noticeable, so that they perform only their immediate task - holding a towel.
How to make a towel hanger with your own hands?
Necessary materials and tools
Depending on what kind of hanger you are going to make with your own hands, you will need different tools and materials. These can be pieces of leather or old leather items, massive beads and other fittings, wire or fishing line, as well as glue and paint. Tools are needed to attach the structure to the wall (for example, a drill, dowels, a screwdriver, or just liquid nails). For some options, you may have to make a drawing.
Spartan crossbar
If you are limited in funds, but have an irresistible desire to make a towel holder with your own hands, then the Spartan bar is the right choice.
To create an accessory you need:
- Wooden or metal-plastic tubes;
- A rectangular piece of leather;
- Mounting to the wall (self-tapping screws are suitable);
- Glue (or liquid nails).
Two identical leather pieces are folded in half and attached to the wall. The next fastener is located at the level of the first, but 10 cm shorter than the length of the wooden stick (or pipe). After the loops are attached to the wall, the stick (pipe) is placed in them.
Such holders can be arranged in a checkerboard pattern in the bathroom. Three crossbars at different levels look stylish. The convenience of the design is that you determine the parameters of the holder yourself and at what distance to place the lower steps.
Stylish ring
This is also a simple option. To make it, you need beads, wire, a piece of leather belt, as well as pliers and paint.
A loop is made from leather and attached to the wall. The beads are strung on a wire, closed into a ring and covered with paint. After drying, the "beads" are threaded through the loop. Or, as an option, a leather loop can be placed between the beads.
The main thing is that they are round in shape and do not “snag” on the towel.
How to Make a Towel Hook Yourself
Hook made of stone
In some cases, the parts needed for the work are literally lying underfoot. And imaginative thinking and a little imagination help to see a future masterpiece in them.
A simple but very effective idea is a hook made of stone. Having found an oblong stone of an interesting shape, do not rush to throw it away. By attaching it to the wall (for example, with special glue) you can get beautiful hangers.
An even more interesting idea on how to preserve memories of a seaside vacation. You can make such a model using screws and metal cylinders. After inserting the screws into the cylinders, screw them into a wooden block. And attach stones to the screw heads using universal glue.
Wooden hooks
Since there is no shortage of interesting and suitable shaped branches, you can make towel hangers using them.
The wooden element you like should be treated with fine sandpaper so that its surface is smooth. Then cover it with any paint and attach it to the wall.
The more varied the shape of such hooks, the more creative your bathroom will look.
Leather hooks
To make such a hanger with your own hands, you will need pieces of leather, wooden cylinders and long screws.
We remove the heads from the screws and insert them into the wooden cylinders with the sharp end facing out. We fold a piece of leather belt in half and drill a hole. Then, having drilled a hole in the wall, we fasten the structure with a screw.
Concrete hooks
It is worth noting that if you do not want to mess around with concrete, you can take any material that has the property of hardening (clay, for example).
To make such a hanger, use a cookie cutter. Pour the mixture into it and let it dry. Then apply a regular metal hanger to the back side and fill it with a thick layer of cement or clay. Dry again.
Hooks from water taps
A bold and interesting idea. If you find a stash of faucets in your pantry that you're unlikely to use for their intended purpose, don't rush to throw them away
Find a wooden base and attach these simple objects to it in random order, having previously painted them in different colors.
To make towel hangers you don't need expensive materials or superpowers. Perhaps you have everything you need to create a creative accessory at hand, the main thing is to use it skillfully.
