To save useful space and give the room a proper interior, you need to combine stylish and compact furniture at the same time.
A successful solution to this problem is a bed with a lifting mechanism. Compact niches located inside such beds can accommodate a large number of bedding items, freeing up the rest of the room.
The main advantage is achieved by the lifting mechanism, which provides easy access to storage drawers by lifting the base with mattresses above the bed.

Necessary tools
First, you need to prepare all the necessary tools. The assembly kit includes many different assembly elements, such as screws, self-tapping screws, bolts.
This means you can’t do without a screwdriver and a spanner, or a screwdriver with a full set of attachments.
Newer models often use Euro screws with a countersunk head and internal Allen key, so you may need to stock up on these specific keys as well.
A tape measure and a level will also come in handy. A process such as assembling a bed with a lifting mechanism is a certain complexity, so study the assembly diagram in advance and prepare the tool.
Let's list the necessary tools once again:
- spanner;
- screwdriver;
- hexagon;
- roulette;
- level.
Assembling the bed base
The first step will be to assemble the bed base, its perimeter, which consists of the headboard and three side rails. We connect the side rails together.
Different models can use different longitudinal power elements. Basically, these are either solid longitudinal ties or corners and brackets fastened with screws.
The legs of the bed are attached to special platforms, which can be located either on the longitudinal elements themselves, or screwed separately onto the side rails.
Next, you need to attach the shelves and corners to the top of the sidebars. Do not rush to tighten the screws, as later you will have to align the sidebars, shelves and corners in a perpendicular plane.
At the headboard, on the side rails, you need to secure the lifting mechanism, with minimal play. After that, assemble the base together, screwing the headboard to the rails.
Assembly of the lifting mechanism
Next, we put the bed frame and fix it with screws on the lifting mechanism. Before finally tightening these screws, it is necessary to align the gaps between the frame and the base.
When installing a gas shock absorber, it is important to specify its force, calculated for a bed of this model. Using nuts with a locking ring and fluoroplastic washers, we install the gas shock absorber in the lifting mechanism with the cylinder facing up.
The nuts should be tightened to the stop, slightly loosened to ensure minimal play. Make sure the lifting mechanism works correctly. Attach handles to the frame for easy lifting and a mattress stop.
To complete the assembly, all that remains is to lay the bottom of the bed and put the cover on its perimeter. Now, knowing how to assemble a bed with a lifting mechanism, this task becomes just a construction set "for adults".
