To do this, let's consider their main varieties and functional capabilities. This will allow us to finally decide what we need.

Main types of sliding wardrobes
Depending on its design, there are two types of sliding wardrobes: cabinet wardrobes and built-in wardrobes.
A cabinet wardrobe is like a cabinet in our usual understanding of it. An autonomous part of home furniture, which can be easily moved according to your mood, moved from room to room, and if you get tired of it, even taken to the country. And it will not lose anything. Such a cabinet is easy to disassemble and assemble yourself. Structural elements, such as shelves, inter-compartment partitions, bottom, as a rule, are made of lightweight chipboard. Cabinet wardrobes for the living room are equipped with a special system of guides and rollers, allowing the owner to easily open and close the outwardly massive door leaves.
Another thing is a built-in wardrobe. This is a whole complex structure using the attachment of this furniture to the floor, walls and even the ceiling. Its installation at the initial stage will even require a small project. Such wardrobes in the living room also require furniture makers to take measurements of the dimensions of a specific room and a specific place for its future installation. Subsequently, such a built-in wardrobe can be dismantled, but it can only stand in the same place and no other. It is so individual and whimsical. At the same time, its installation must be preceded by certain preparatory activities. We are talking about leveling the walls into which it will be built. Ideal surface angles of the parts of the built-in wardrobe expect the same ideal parameters from the walls surrounding it. The only concession is allowed in relation to the floor surface. Its unevenness can be smoothed out with a panel specially placed under the roller guide.
One of the strengths of this option is its lower price.
What to look for when buying a sliding wardrobe
People who already have a sliding wardrobe in their living room know that very rarely, but still in the case of a significant blow to the door, the lower roller located in the guide can jump off it, causing the door to warp. This is because there are two main ways of attaching the door directly to the wardrobe. And jumping off is possible with the first method, which is considered the most economical and popular.
Method No. 1. The mount has a rail located at the bottom as its support. The rollers, also located at the bottom, move along the guide, while the guide located at the top is additional, providing stability. This, as already mentioned, is an economical, but less reliable option.
Method #2. It is significantly more expensive - door suspension with support on the guide located at the top. The roller moves in a monorail, which fixes it so that it cannot jump off in any way. Also, protection of the grooves from possible ingress of small debris and foreign objects is provided.
What materials can a sliding wardrobe be made of?
- Fiberboard – fiberboard. Without going into details of the production technology of this material, here is what can be said about it. This is a compressed secondary raw material of wood processing industry. Its biggest disadvantage is hydrophilicity, i.e. moisture absorption. When buying a cabinet, you should try to minimize the percentage of this material.
- MDF is the most expensive and high-quality material used in the production of furniture, and in particular wardrobes. The material made of wood fibers is moisture-resistant and durable.
- DSP – chipboard. Similar to fiberboard, however, special resins are added, giving the material greater strength and better water-repellent properties.
Characteristics of a sliding wardrobe
Perhaps one of the main qualities of a sliding wardrobe, to which increased requirements are imposed, is its internal depth. After all, it should ensure the ability to neatly arrange things on hangers. In addition, it would be correct to provide additional space for free, without any difficulties, movement of doors. And if you plan to hang fur things in the closet, then take into account the length of the pile. All this requires a depth of at least 70 cm. In the event that this is an unaffordable luxury for the dimensions of the room, then the rod for hangers can be placed perpendicular to the doors.
Of course, the most rational solution, if the cabinet is already planned to be installed, would be to occupy the entire space from the floor to the ceiling. But, unfortunately, hanging mezzanines are not present in every model. Namely, they are responsible for the convenience of using the upper shelves. In this case, if you do not plan to use the cabinet as an interior partition, choose lower models.
The next characteristic that should be considered is the functional content of the cabinet. How many compartments, shelves, sections, etc. it has. At the same time, manufacturers offer both standard options for such content, and filling with functions and accessories at the discretion of the buyer upon request. Of course, a special order will cost a little more.
In an effort to earn as much as possible and satisfy the customer as much as possible, the manufacturer offers all sorts of functions and accessories. From pull-out drawers for small items, mesh metal baskets, tie hangers, to a mini lift. There is also a device that allows you to lift hangers with clothes to a height of 3 meters.
Huge door mirrors
This opportunity provided by sliding wardrobes will certainly be appreciated by fashionistas and fashionistas. A huge mirror from the floor and almost to the ceiling gives super impressions. The mirror is mounted using a special technology that holds the fragments even in the event of a strong blow to it.
There is no housewife who would not strive to turn her home into the most comfortable, cozy and quiet nest. But not all of them have access to the services of expensive designers, purchases of the latest fashion trends and expensive luxury items. But this is probably not the point.
And the secret is that every object, every thing in this house, is selected with sincere attention and love. A cozy home atmosphere is not a privilege of the rich, but a dignity of people with a big heart.
