What is phototulle

How is this type of tulle made?
Sublimation transfer
Printing is initially done on special thermal screen paper. Paint is applied to the paper base, and then the image is transferred to the prepared aligned fabric using a thermal press.
Pros
- The product does not fade and can withstand a large number of washes.
- The possibilities of color transmission are unlimited.
Cons
- Human factor. This method involves manual labor, and human accuracy will determine whether all the pixels of the drawing will take their proper place. It should be noted that the defect will be insignificant in any case, you will have to look for it on the canvas with a hand magnifying glass.
- Limited choice of fabrics. As a rule, this printing method is used for synthetic fabrics, based on polyester, polyester. It is not recommended to turn silk chiffon, cotton cambric into such curtains.
- Expensive accompanying materials. Thermal paper is not cheap, sewing one set of curtains will require an area of several square meters, take this into account when making individual orders.
Direct printing
It is performed on a unit resembling a regular inkjet printer. The paint is applied directly to the material. The process occurs with an increase in temperature, due to which the fixation of the coloring substance occurs in a very short time.
Pros
- Use of natural or as close to natural dyes as possible.
- Colored tulle with a pattern does not shed, does not fade in the sun, and has a reduced light effect.
- A huge selection of fabrics, no restrictions on composition.
Cons
- High cost of production. Large format fabric printers are expensive both to purchase and to operate.
- The price of paints is also high. All this affects the cost of the final product.

Blackout. Even on a sunny day, with the curtains drawn, the room will be in semi-darkness. Three-layer, less often two-layer material.

Gabardine. A popular material, inexpensive in cost.

Satin. The surface of the fabric is shiny, smooth. Suitable for any home textile.

Tulle, chiffon.
- Density – 80-110 g/sq.m.
- Weave: plain.
- Light transmittance – 60-80%.

General characteristics of these materials
- Composition: polyester.
- Photoeffect (burnout) – low.
- The main color is white, with the exception of Blackout. In the latter case, the central fiber of the thread is black.
It should be noted that it is also possible to sew photo tulle from natural and blended fibers.
Care requirements
- Machine wash at 30 degrees.
- Ironing is not hot, 130 degrees, with an iron through a pad.
- Dry in the open air.
