For sewing, as a rule, they use viscose, components of plant origin, synthetics (nylon, polyester) with inclusions of rubber threads, lurex, etc.

• Veil – almost as delicate as organza. Requires especially careful handling. Such curtains can only be ironed through a cotton or gauze cloth (preferably through one soaked in water).

3. Nylon tulle can be washed with a small amount of brilliant green: 14 drops per 0.2 l of water. When mixing the solution, carefully monitor that no sediment falls out.
4. Lace curtains can be machine washed with hydrogen peroxide. Pour about half a bottle into the detergent/softener compartment.
5. Curtains made of combined fabrics (also with guipure elements) can be washed on a regular wash cycle with regular oxygen-containing bleach.

The most proven method, which will be equally effective for tulle made of any fabric, is blueing. It will produce a certain “masking” effect. It is used during preliminary soaking: add the product to the water until a faint bluish color appears and soak the fabric.

How to Starch Fabric in a Washing Machine

Preparation of paste

The first thing you need is to dissolve 2.5 g of starch in 1 liter of water. Two liters are enough to wash tulle. If your starch has acquired a grayish color, you need to clean it: first, dilute it in cold water, let it stand for 20 minutes, then drain the water. The top part of the starch must also be removed, since this is where all the trash is located.

Then you need to add a little more water and strain the water through gauze. Next, you need to boil the water. As it boils, gradually pour in the starch gruel, stirring slowly.

The liquid should be brewed for about 5 minutes on low heat until the starch mass becomes completely transparent. The final consistency will resemble jelly/wallpaper glue.

Remove from the stove, let the contents of the pan cool. Before pouring directly into the washing machine, the solution must be diluted with water. At the end of the wash, the tulle must be taken out, preferably without wringing, hang to dry in the fresh air. If this is not possible, hang it directly on the curtain rod until completely dry. While the material is hanging, the water will flow freely, the tulle will straighten out.
