• The choice of material from which the tool is made is purely subjective. It can be plastic, aluminum, wood, steel or even bone, but for beginners it is recommended to choose a one-piece hook, where the handle and head are made of the same material.

• The classification of hooks by numbers indicates their thickness, that is, in No. 1 the thickness of the working part will be 1 mm, in No. 0.25 – 0.25 mm, and so on.

Choosing yarn

To create such light and airy items as decorative or for special occasions, hand-crocheted tablecloths, linen or cotton threads are best suited: Iris, Lily, Narcissus, Violet and others from these series. Knitting begins with the main part of the tablecloth. A chain of 100 VP is collected, then 4 lifts to move to a new row and knit a bias net. We finish the row with a connecting post in the 1st VP of the edge of the set. Then we knit in a circle according to the pattern, where the arrows indicate the direction. We knit the rows in height according to the order.

After that, we divide the work into central and side sides, mark. We knit both central sides, shifting the rapports between each other according to the checkerboard pattern. We knit the side parts, following the sequence of rapports. We repeat in height 4 times from 10 to 28 and the product is ready.

After knitting, as in the previous version, dry on a flat surface with fixation, lightly washing.

We work according to the description. First, with a blue thread, we dial 243 VP = 238 VP base + 3 VP lift + 2 VP. We knit with a crochet hook.

1st row: 1 stc in chain stitch #9, counting in the chain from the tool, then we make 79 fragments of fillet knitting, after which we continue to use the fillet technique in rows straight-back inclusively up to the 67th row.

Now we add white yarn to the knitting and knit a border along the entire edge of the fabric. A full circular knitting is required from row 1 to row 10. To finish, we use the slip stitch method, after which we secure the cut end of the thread as inconspicuously as possible.

This tablecloth is knitted using the filet method according to the pattern, starting from the core to the edges. Each half is made in turn.

We also knit from the middle to the sides (on the diagram, a quarter of the tablecloth), all the other parts are done the same way, but in mirror image. You can increase the length of the finished tablecloth, as in the photo, by increasing the number of rapports.

First, it is worth practicing, determining the appropriate hook using different sizes, making several samples. This will make it easier for you to understand how to correctly combine the main components of knitting - its density and interaction with the hook and material, as well as calculate the thread consumption for certain parameters of the product.

When choosing yarn, special attention should be paid to the uniformity of the yarn threads by thickness, otherwise the finished product will have an unsightly appearance. You should also pay attention to the thread consumption so that at the end of the skein you have a “tail” for fastening. It is recommended to use a new skein only from the beginning of the row.

Finished products should be treated with a wet-heat method to shape, improve the appearance and correct possible defects. To do this, the damp tablecloth should be fixed on a flat surface and ironed. Openwork products are ironed using an iron with a steaming mode through a dry cloth.
